We ventured out and found a playground in Galway. Most trees have lost their leaves, but flowers are still in bloom!
Here's a place the boys feel right at home :)
While driving to find a petting farm and completely lost, we saw this church ruins. It's just sitting right in a village as if nothing special, but it's beautiful! It is a medieval Franciscan Friary in the village of Claregalway, 8km from our home. It was founded in 1252 by a Norman knight and was continuously inhabited until 1847 when the last two monks left to join the Galway friary.
A closer look at the Celtic crosses marking the graves.
We did eventually find the Turoe Petting Farm after we flagged down a car and asked for help. One man pointed us in the right direction; the other stated the obvious - in a charming Irish accent, of course - "You're way off the map."
Silas told us the goats were his favorite.

Grandma being here has made it a much easier transition so far.
Moriah's skin was dry and cracked when we left MN, but in one week here is soft and healed. Her doctor said Ireland's humidity would be ideal, but I didn't expect such impressive results! Still at the petting farm: This is the hugest inflatable we've ever seen. It fills up a giant machine shed. There are four closed-circuit TV cameras monitoring it since parents aren't allowed in. A few staff people referee dozens of kids ages barely walking to pre-teen!
Definitely the most outrageous "petting zoo" we've ever seen!
