We drove down to Shannon airport on Wednesday morning to start our journey home! The boys were eager to see their "Minnesota Home" again. With Hannah, we were one-on-one with the kids, so I expected a pretty easy trip.
After getting situated on the airplane (me with the boys / Daniel with Hannah and Moriah a few rows back), an apology was made that the plane's "in-flight entertainment system" was not working. Uh oh. That was my plan for entertaining the boys the whole way. I had 'volunteered' to have both boys sit with me since I thought they would be easier than Moriah. Guess this was what I get for my selfish motives. Now all I was left with was a coloring book for each of them - hmmm...six hours of coloring - not likely.
God is gracious. The boys took a long time to eat lunch, then colored for a while, then fell asleep for a 3 1/2 hour nap!
Our connection in NYC and our flight to Mpls were smooth...we were home!
Grandpa & Grandma Dyrud and Paul & Abby picked us up from the airport.
(Some of us weren't ready for the picture.)
We went to Grandpa & Grandma's house to stay a couple nights.
The boys found their toys where they'd left them and had made a big mess within seconds.
Leah and Jake were there to welcome us too.
Moriah loved Fotsy - a little too much for Fotsy's comfort.
The boys got a second wind at bedtime, but were happy to sleep in their "new room" - Grandma had redecorated Uncle Paul's old room for them.
Sleep was calling...it was 3 o'clock in the morning for us...it was good to be home.
