June 25 - The Cliffs!

The only thing Hannah wanted to see during her visit - besides her niece and nephews - was the Cliffs of Moher. Since we'd seen them a few times already, we planned something extra for the day and kept it a surprise for her. Stay tuned.

First, we drove to Lahinch Beach to play in the sand.

This stage is really annoying - when will your real smiles be back?

Surf School

Guess we'll see ya later Silas.

Oh, no, broken shovel.

He got over it.

There were jelly fish all over the beach.

On the way to Doolin, we passed Lahinch Golf Club where Daniel and his brothers had golfed in May. It's taken a beating from this drought.

We were headed for "Doolin Ferries" - right after lunch.

Glad we already knew how to get there!

Seafood chowder doesn't get much more seafoody than this!

Hannah had lots of seaweed in hers.

Waiting for the ferry was an adventure in itself.

Those are the Cliffs of Moher in the distance.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity for a family picture with the Irish flag in the background

This was our "surprise" for Hannah - to see the Cliffs from both angles!

Skeptical.

Indifferent.

Excited!

What nice sharing. :)

Silas told Hannah that he could see jellyfish. She didn't believe him...

...'til she looked. OK - it's not really obvious, so you'll just have to trust me.
This is a picture of jellyfish.

We put Hannah in charge of keeping the kids in the boat.

On our way to the top of the Cliffs.

These are the little shops at the visitor's center. Kind of like a hobbit strip mall.

Hannah's eye.

Hannah took Aaron and Moriah up the viewing tower.

Her supper.

Our supper.

Better than Playland McDonald's!

Irish lamb stew.

I had to ask the waiter what the bowl of water and lemon was for. It was for cleaning my fingers after eating the ribs. It worked really well. Maybe I should suggest it to Famous Daves and save a few rolls of paper towels.

The ribs were good. I got teased.

We found the GPS comical as we drove the switchbacks on our way home.
