February 6 - Boys' Weekend!

Grandma Dyrud came back on Thursday! The boys had been counting down the days by how many more "sleeps" they had left before she came. Uncle Mike had suggested to Aaron over Skype that he make her a welcome sign, and he excitedly went to work on it.
He drew this picture of the bus - not the one Grandma would be coming on, but the toy one he had seen in the gift shop at Bunratty Castle and wants her to buy for him!

Grandma had filled her suitcase with stuff for us and the boys. The boys kept asking me for these "crunchy mangos" and "crunchy strawberries" from Trader Joes. Happy day!

Moriah always wakes up when I open the door to her room, so I rarely get to see her sleeping.
She was happy to see Grandma too - she seems to remember her.

On Thursday, we just relaxed and let Grandma settle in and get a little rest.

On Friday evening, Daniel and I and the boys walked into the village to watch the kickoff of the Galway International Rally Race. The boys LOVED it!

Silas is probably close to 40lbs now, the limit for the baby carrier - carrying him to the village and back was my exercise for the day!

Galway City mayor, Declan McDonnell at the opening ceremony.

As they were introduced, the drivers peeled out right in front of us as they approached the starting ramp. The boys were enthralled. It was really fun to see them having so much fun, but I could have done without the smell of burnt rubber for an hour!

We made a video and the boys have been re-living the night ever since

Saturday. The boys get so excited to see tractors. Here, we're on our way into the city to take the boys swimming.

Yes, the caps were mandatory - except for that guy, I guess.

Since we were making the weekend one for the boys, we went to an American-style 50's diner. Burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes =)

This piece of cardboard was once my 6th grade science fair project display board. It had most recently served as packing for a picture Mom brought over to us from our house in MN. It is now a ramp for the boys' cars and has been the best thing that Grandma brought with her!
